The Texas Literary Hall of Fame
Founded in 2002 by the Friends of the Fort Worth Library, the Texas Literary Hall of Fame is a biennial event honoring authors whose body of work, fiction or non-fiction:
- Significantly contributes to Texas’ literary heritage
- Is original
- Was first published in this country
- Has previously been recognized for its literary significance
The names of the Texas Literary Hall of Fame honorees are featured on plaques mounted on the west wall of the Fort Worth Central Library beneath the mural "Texas Tales" commissioned by the Friends of the Fort Worth Library and painted by Marjory Buckley.
